1216 Hunt Club Road

This 37,600ft² mosque is a phased project for the Assunah Muslims Association (AMA). Lundy oversaw the exterior and interior construction of this building, including a main floor for worship, an additional half-floor, and a basement with a library, meeting room, office, and washrooms. The building envelope used a prefabricated insulated exterior wall system designed to fast-track construction and improve insulation during partial occupancy.

This new mosque provides South Ottawa’s Muslim population with much-needed prayer space , as well as a community and cultural centre. The project was phased to coincide with the AMA’s fundraising schedule; phases were sometimes delayed until the necessary funds could be collected. Partial funding came from selling shares in the mosque, making this project community-focused from its funding through to its final use.
