Beechwood National Memorial Centre is a high-profile construction management project led by M.P. Lundy that is believed to be the first memorial centre in the world created to welcome families and organizations from all faith communities. The sacred space incorporates stunning and sustainable features that were inspired by universal references to nature, light and geometry. The quality of workmanship and innovative features of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre were publicly recognized and celebrated by the Governor General of Canada, spiritual leaders from about 25 different faith groups, two military regiments, and a host of politicians, dignitaries, special guests and media. In addition, the project was honoured with the Canadian Wood Council’s 2008 Ontario Wood WORKS! Award, (Institutional Wood Design, less than $10 million).
