Lundy Builds Eastern Ontario's First Public LEED Gold Building
Located at the corner of Prince of Wales Drive and Rideau Valley Drive, the new headquarters for the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority is the first LEED Gold Certification for the region achieved on a public service building.
The new RVCA headquarters is home to a very excited municipal watershed protection group which was previously scattered around a variety of heritage buildings in Manotick. Designed by Christopher Simmonds Architect, the new headquarters features a two storey office component, an open atrium space, a large boardroom, and the surroundings of a natural landscape.
On September 24, 2009, Lundy Construction was awarded the 1st Annual Ontario General Contractors Association Project Award of Excellence for our role in this environmentally responsible project.
“It was excellent working with M.P. Lundy on this project. Your staff understood the project and how to build a LEED Certified building. Your staff was also very professional and patient - I think we discussed cost cutting measures at every tender. I appreciate M.P. Lundy's commitment to this project and the work your staff did to help us keep this project on budget. You have built us a building we can all be proud of.”
