Dramatic transformation of an Ottawa Retail Leader.
This challenging and extensive upgrade of Sears' third highest producing store in Canada stands as a classic example of construction work within an occupied facility. All three floors of this store at Carlingwood Shopping Mall were renovated - one section at a time - while the store remained open to the public. The success of the project depended on daily (sometimes hourly) meetings with store representatives to relocate merchandise while construction crews advanced through the premises.
By the time that the last tile was laid and the final coat of paint applied, the construction team had taken the project through more than thirty mini-phases, organized within four, all-encompassing, divisions of space on each floor.
This project was expertly guided by Lundy Site Superintendent, John Sanzo, who brought the job to completion a week ahead of schedule. Sears representatives from both Ottawa and Toronto watched the project take shape with great interest, commending the entire team for the unprecedented success story.
